I saw him once at Le Chambord. He, Joanne and someone else were at a nearby table. I said I wasn't staring, but my husband said I dropped some of my salad from my fork onto my lap.
Friend Carol here. Do you remember the night John and I went out to dinner for his birthday to a Westport restaurant (also long gone), and Paul and Joanne came to sit in the same alcove where we were sitting? By the time the night was over, we were not only talking with each other, but they also sang Happy Birthday to John.
I,too, lived in Westport and spent years looking for him! Everywhere I went people would say "Oh, you live in Westport. Have you seen Paul Newman?" And when I replied no, they'd say "Oh, I have."! The man was everywhere, except wherever I was!
And then finally one day in a theater in NYC to see Denzel Washington in "Brutus", Paul and Joanne entered and sat a few rows in front of me!

So whose birthday do you share, Alison?

You could have told him about your friend who shared his birthday. (Kidding.)
Haha

(But my birthday is in August!)
Rosemary, glad I'm not the only one. Glad you like it.
Really? Glad I wrote it then! Did you change the spelling of your name?
How is it in Israel?
Love this story grandma, it's one of my favorites.
Sidney, I'm so glad.
